Care Instructions

Thoughtful care will help preserve the colour, texture, and appearance of your Shades of Luxe Decor cushion cover. Always remove the cushion insert before cleaning and check the care instructions included with your specific cover.

Washing

  • Remove the cushion insert before washing.

  • Close the zipper to help protect its shape.

  • Machine wash separately or with similar colours in cold water.

  • Select a gentle or delicate cycle.

  • Use a mild detergent.

  • Do not use bleach, fabric softener, or harsh cleaning products.

  • Avoid soaking the cover for extended periods.

Drying

  • Air drying is recommended whenever possible to help preserve the fabric.

  • Lay the cover flat or hang it carefully to dry.

  • If using a dryer, tumble dry on a low-heat setting.

  • Remove promptly once dry to help reduce wrinkles.

  • Do not use high heat, as it may damage the fabric or affect the cover’s shape.

Removing Stains

  • Treat spills as soon as possible.

  • Gently blot the area with a clean, light-coloured cloth—do not rub, as this may spread the stain or disturb the fabric.

  • Use a small amount of mild detergent mixed with cold water.

  • Test any cleaning solution on a small, hidden area before applying it to the stain.

  • Blot gently from the outside of the stain toward the centre.

  • Allow the area to air dry completely before replacing the insert.

Ironing and Wrinkles

  • Iron only when needed, using the lowest heat setting

  • Never apply high heat directly to velvet, satin, or patterned fabrics.

  • For delicate textures, light steaming from a safe distance may be preferable. Test a hidden area first.

Dry Cleaning

Do not dry clean unless the care instructions provided with your specific cushion cover state otherwise.

Everyday Care

  • Gently fluff and reshape your cushion regularly.

  • Keep it away from prolonged direct sunlight to help reduce fading.

  • Avoid placing the cover against wet, damp, or freshly treated surfaces.

  • Use a lint roller or soft fabric brush to remove light dust and debris.

  • Store clean and completely dry in a cool area when not in use.
